ABOUT MARTIN
I have always been fascinated by performance - why some individuals and teams consistently operate at a higher level than others.
Over the past 17 years I’ve explored this question through my work with leaders in business and elite sport, studying the thinking, behaviours and cultures that shape high-performance.

My interest originally developed through studying sports science and working in elite sport. I was drawn to the science behind how people think, behave and perform under pressure, and the impact an environment has on people.
Moving into the world of business, I noticed the same principles playing out. My early experience was in sales environments where the conditions of pressure, decision-making and drive for results closely mirrored elite sport.

As my work developed, I started working closer with leadership teams and organisations to help shape high-performance cultures.

I’ve always been curious to learn from other elite environments. This curiosity has led me to spend time in places such as a U.S. Navy SEAL Leadership Academy - exploring how some of the most disciplined teams in the world think about leadership, standards and performance.

Through these experiences I’ve developed my own thinking on what it really takes to get the best out of people and teams, and how leadership, behaviour and culture combine to create environments where high performance can flourish.

Today I work with individuals, leadership teams and organisations helping them strengthen the thinking, leadership and culture that drive performance.

Alongside this work I share these ideas through my books, speaking and advisory work.
Proud moments include recognition from Sir Alex Ferguson and winning Business Coach of the Year at the International Coaching Awards.
